Justteachers Recruitment Agency is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at an SEMH school in Nuneaton. This full-time role is set to start in January 2025 and offers the opportunity to work across KS1, KS2, or KS3 departments, depending on the needs of the students. You will play a key role in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs across KS1, KS2, or KS3.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement individualised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Support students in managing emotions and behaviours, fostering a positive and safe classroom environment.
  • Assist in the delivery of lessons, adapting resources to meet the needs of students.
  • Provide 1:1 support or small group interventions to help students engage with their learning.
  • Encourage and support the emotional and social development of students, helping them build resilience and confidence.
  • Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other professionals as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs, ideally within a school setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly across different key stages (KS1, KS2, or KS3).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Good understanding of strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management.
  • A commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students with SEMH.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA qualifications, SEN experience) are desirable but not essential.
