£140 - £240 PER DAY DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE

Justteachers are recruiting for a Science Teacher to work within one of partner specialist provision schools located on the outskirts of Leeds 2 days per week.

This is position will be teaching pupils and supporting pupils who may have previously experienced significant and prolonged periods of disengagement and/or disaffection in their education. This may have impacted negatively upon their previous levels of achievement and motivation to succeed at school. The school specialises in delivering a quality education for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.

This position is in a small, highly supportive school, it is to start in January 2025.

Job Description

Planning and delivery of lessons
To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students
To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
To contribute to the maximizing of student attainment
Promote mutual respect and ensure equality of access for all pupils, regardless of culture, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, religion, race, language, social background and family circumstances, preparing them for a life in a diverse society
To participate in the pupils Life Skills development programme, assessing progress made against set Smart Targets
Support the senior leadership of the school in identifying other additional intervention programmes to be provided and support the delivery of additional lighter touch ‘layered’ interventions provided by teaching assistants or trained volunteers

Requirements

Experience working in an educational setting.
Previous experience of working with vulnerable students, particularly those highlight with additional Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) is preferred but not essential.
Resilience, ability to see through and overcome challenging behaviours to ensure each pupil achieves to their best ability
A sense of humour and ability to form relationships quickly
