Job Description: We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Secondary English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Bury, Greater Manchester. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching English and a commitment to fostering a love of literature and language in students from KS3 to KS4.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Inspire students through a variety of teaching techniques that bring literature, creative writing, and language studies to life.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the individual needs of students, including those with SEN and varying ability levels.
• Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel confident to participate and express their ideas.
• Prepare students for GCSE English exams, supporting them in developing critical reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Work collaboratively with the English department to contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
• Participate in school events, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in English or a related subject.
• Experience teaching English at the secondary school level (KS3 and KS4).
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for English, including assessment frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Strong classroom management skills, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
• Passion for literature and language, and a commitment to developing students’ critical thinking and writing skills.
• A commitment to professional development and ongoing improvement in teaching methods.
