1:1 Teaching Assistant – Skipton

Justteachers is looking for a compassionate and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Skipton area on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to provide tailored support to an individual student, helping them to thrive and succeed. Justteachers are currently shortlisting this position, with the view to an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with specific learning needs, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement personalised learning strategies
• Help create a positive and structured learning environment that supports the child’s engagement and progress
• Track and report on the child’s progress, adapting support methods as needed to meet learning goals

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a 1:1 setting or working with children with additional needs
• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• A compassionate, patient approach and excellent communication skills
• Strong understanding of child development and learning support techniques
• A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
