The school is a larger than the national average mixed 11-18 secondary school. The school achieved specialist college status in business and enterprise in September 2005.  It collaborates with three other educational establishments locally to provide education for its students. The school provides a broad, general education for children of all ability.

The position is on a permanent basis and will be to start from September.
