We adopt a Safer Recruitment Policy in line with the Department for Education which ensures that our recruitment and selection procedures fulfill responsibilities to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. This commitment stems from our philosophy that "Every Act Matters", ensuring that every single action we take makes a positive contribution towards your delivery of educational excellence whilst providing best value.
Our ongoing commitment to safeguarding children is demonstrated through our recent re-accreditation of the Department for Education's Quality Mark. The Quality Mark is a rigorous audit of our procedures in recruiting and vetting teaching staff. Candidates sourced from agencies that do not hold the Quality Mark may not have been vetted to the same standards posing a potential risk to schools.

At justteachers we adopt a one step further practice, in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people with a bespoke IT system that prevents candidates who are unsuitable to work in Education from completing registration which is summarised as follows:
All our candidates hold an enhanced CRB Disclosure
All candiates are checked against List 99 to ensure they are not listed
We undertake a face-to-face, professional interview with all our candidates to confirm their identity
We issue all candidates with a photo Identity badge
We request that originals of all teaching qualifications are seen together with confirmation of QTS from the Department for Education
Where relevant an additional check is made on the General Teaching Council's website to confirm the qualifications and registration status of a candidate, including any restrictions and induction status
A minimum of two references are obtained, one from the most recent engagement. We ask a series of questions relating to the teacher's competencies and behaviour. If any questions are not fully satisfied, we will go back to the referee.
Permission to Work for our overseas teachers to prove their Right to Work status.
